This week the interface installation kit testing is proceeding well. Starting with the PI to PI interface as a base-line, we have enhanced the functionality of QUAIL with features necessary for running an installation kit. The zip and executable archive extraction was the first component needed. A handy tool called 7zip was easily incorporated into the Csharp library. Then directory and file manipulation calls were needed. Finally, with the addition of search and replace, QUAIL can now accommodate template testing. So consequently, the Universal File Loader (UFL), an OSIsoft interface that facilitates sending data to PI from data files and serial devices, can now be installed with the configuration files customized for the target QA Machine. Next we will dive into the world of SQL and relational databases with the RDBMS interface.
