Summer Concerts in the Park Begin with Preservation Hall Jazz Band and The Stone Foxes

There is nothing more gratifying to the body and soul than the melodic sound of live music in the midst of nature.

With Summer in full swing and the blue sky beaming, the Stern Grove Festival brought forth another cast of musical talent for its concert in the park.

Introducing…

Preservation Hall Jazz Band
and
The Stone Foxes

Sunday, July 1 at 2 p.m.
Stern Grove
19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard, San Francisco

Our Moscow contingent gathered for a truly American experience with this classical production of blues and jazz. On a fallen trunk, we enjoyed the relaxing tunes drifting up through the Greek-style amphitheater of the grove. The Festival began with the local SF group The Stone Foxes, opening the show with a roadhouse-ready sound steeped in gritty blues.
Then the concert featured the return of the favorite Preservation Hall Jazz Band and their sounds of the Big Easy. The fans couldn’t get enough of the sweet wine. After a second round of cheering, they eventually wrapped up with a set of popular songs performed in a swinging jazz, including The Saints Go Marching On. All you can say is Just glorious!
