Hurray for the Honeywell Heater

Now that the cold (and wet) weather has arrived, we figured the time had come to address the useless thermostat that has a mind of its own, randomly changing the temperature set to its liking. Honeywell advertised a simple and accessible, non-digital thermostat however you never know if an appliance is usable in the desired fashion until you can test it in action. Today we took out the old thermostat and hooked up the new one. Boy were we pleasantly surprised and amazed! The Honeywell accessible thermostat was hard to find yet was worth the hunt. Not only is the unit simple and easy to use, it is far more effective in regulating temperature than the old digital one.
This Honeywell thermostat consisted of three plastic rings which snap together when you mount the unit on the wall. The outer ring swivels around the center hub to adjust the temperature. The hub has every ten degrees marked with raised numbers and five tactile notches between the numbers to count out the two degree intervals. A pointer clearly indicates the temperature setting however one can simply go by the clicks that sound when rotating the outer ring to track the temperature change. Lastly the thermostat has a simple on-off switch on the side for the heater fan and a thermometer read-out to show the actual temperature for anyone interested in calibration.
When put to the test, we were pleased to verify the temperature was regulated within a degree. Best of all, the fan didn’t keep running! The Honeywell thermostat is a winner for anyone desiring a non-digital, accessible and reliable temperature control for their house.
