The swan flew south without a wave good-bye today, after seven years of carting us around the country. She was a great car even if she didn’t quite meet the desired specs for snow performance. When the hunt was on seven years ago for a replacement for Dead Red, The Swan got her maiden voyage on the funeral march to Minnesota. That was when the difference between all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive became vividly clear. It was a rude surprise to find that The Swan got stuck in the snow when snow banks ruffle its under plumage. The clearance and comfort were marvelous though. So all her summer and southern voyages were luxurious. The interior was one of the best we have had and never showed signs of age. Four fit comfortably with ample leg room in both the front and back seats. The back seat audio and temperature controls were nice perks. Flights down even rocky roads were smooth if you like swaying to the tune of the lumbering train. All and all the Oldsmobile Bravada was a fantastic car.
But alas the day came as all days do to say good-bye, fare well ado. With a lucky duck in the coop, the Swan is bound for more adventures soon. In just one hour the deal was done and The Swan now flies with a new flock. It just goes to show you can sell a car in no time if you offer an unbeatable deal. Dead Red, The Swan, … stay tuned for what the new GMC (The Swan Jr.) will be named.
