After a week of configuration, today the new server arrived! If you have never seen a server-grade computer, the first thing you will be surprised by is the size. It is bigger than any standard tower PC, with handles on each end of the top to facilitate transport. Second, you will find no standard serial monitor port; rather, four mini display ports make it possible to connect four monitors simultaneously. Thirdly, there is much more that can bee connected, such as USB, hard drives and extra ports. Internally a 500 GB SSD drive stores the main Windows 10 installation and a second, 2 TB drive is designed for data. The super-cooling fans make slightly more noise however with the server under a desk it is hardly noticeable. If you want power, the precision-r7910 is the machine for you.
