Basque Country Stew
Serves 6

Ingredients:
2 Tbl oil
1 large onion
2 cloves garlic
3 cups pumpkin or winter squash cubed
3 cups cabbage coarsely chopped
1 cup dried beans (lima beans)
1/4 cup split peas (or lentils)
1 cup cracked wheat
1 fresh hot pepper
6 cups water

Procedure:
Saute garlic and onion. Add all ingredients. Bring to boil. Cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/4 hours.
