For most folks, Netflix’s Nailed It! is an easy binge-watch entertainment. For me, it was the inspiration behind the first corporate cooking contest during COVID. After baking three different breads yesterday, today I assembled my first animal totem pole made entirely of edible food. The orange pumpernickel loaf transformed into a brown Swiss cow, the Harvest Wreath dough formed into a pig and the batch pretsel dough became a lamb. The pink icing for the pig required more preparation than simply adding food coloring to powdered sugar. I made use of all the little packets of cream cheese from bagel hour to make nice lumpy white fur for the lamb. Sitting on top of each other, the animals looked quite amazing! The nice benefit is that the breads all tasted great. Spoiler: I was pleasantly surprised to win first.
