Following a fantastic May Day day of festivities at Spring Show, the saga of the Johansens continued today in full force. The schedule was tight from the beginning with alternative backup plans in place. So all was looking up until we arrived in Woodland for the awards ceremony. Fortunately we made it in time to lend our support to the All Stars and cheer all the winners. But the Swan did not make it past the Penny’s parking lot. We knew it was bad when the transmission gave a big hiccup and then started wining. So out the window the first plan went. Instead, the train became my travel friend and the Mooney came to the rescue for Mom. Yet this was only the beginning. Upon returning home thanks to a ride from John, we found the house bolted up to the gill. Not one of the keys on the big ring would work to get us in. Luckily Ken and Barb drove up and eased our predicament with their hospitality. In the end we did get in but the time was lost and my train was not delayed. So a quick hour and a quarter extended into a four and a half hour trip. Once off on the rails, May Day smoothed out for me and all fell back into line. So in the end the Sunday celebration in Foster City went off afterall.
