A second visit to the hopping downtown Berkeley featured a delicious dinner at Café Gratitude, another recommendation from our gourmet organic diner. In comparison to Gather, Café Gratitude was a treat. Be ware that every dish is delicious even if the description is so flowery that you are left with no idea of what sounds good to order. Each dish has a name of gratitude, “I am …”, so when in doubt go with the waiter’s recommendation. The vegan pizza, polenta and tamale were each incredible. So was the vegan cakes for dessert. The café has basic access and staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating for any special requests or needs. Parking may be your only challenge in the busy Berkeley downtown.
